    Ok, so it was sittin. I rebuilt the carb, changed the coils, cleaned the points, new spark plugs, new impeller, new lower unit lube. I have bright blue spark from both plugs, but it still won't start. Any clues?

    1960 Johnson 10hp Impeller Change

    Motor has been sittin, I'm gonna do the impeller tomorrow. The only other impeller I've changed was on a 69 evinrude 115. The evinrude had electric shift which was a pain (and it was huge), so I'm guessin this should be much easier. Any tips or tricks or things I should watch out for?

    I have a 1960 Johnson 10hp, the pull start cord broke. Luckily the return coil spring did not bend. My problem is, although I have the repair manual, I still cannot figure out how to reinstall the pull start cord.

    1969 Evinrude 115 Lower Unit Removal

    Trying to replace the impeller in my '69 evinrude 115, and I can't get the lower unit off. I tied a string to the wires at the knife connectors, and I removed the five bolts (including the one behind the trim tab) and it won't lower. Any ideas?

    So I guess I am one of many to have problems with my evinrude electric shift. The motor is stuck in forward, not responding to me pushing neutral and reverse buttons on control box. I am suspecting low (or no) oil. Can anyone tell me how to change it and with what???
