    Storing an outboard

    I sold the boat and kept the motor and hung it in the barn. The days are in the 80 and 90's now and will be all summer. I'll have another boat in a few months. I changed the lower unit oil in October. Anything else I should know about storing it properly?

    40 TLDI water discharge

    On the muffs, at idle, should the motor discharge a steady stream of water. Mine's slightly intermittent, but at a slight rpm increase, becomes steady. Never does the water get extremely hot. Just warm to the touch at most.

    Got water in the fuel line somehow. I drained the water from the float bowl but the motor still won't start. I tried force feeding fuel with the bulb and the float bowl fills up fine.     Enough motor for boat

    hello all. I just ordererd a new 16' jon boat with a 4' wide bottom in it. I am thinking of rigging it with a Tohatsu 40 TLDI, but I was wondering if that would be enough power for it. Anybody have any idea how fast it would go, or do I need to go with the 50 instead?
