    Please help identify Mercury 80HP age.

    I have trawled through all of the previous Qu's about age of engines but all the links appear to stop with number identification on this engine in 1983 with 6232941 before going to a preceeding letter. My engine number is 9256680 It's just to pique my curiosity. Many thanks for assistance. James

    '73 Johnson 40Hp charging circuit, should there be one?

    Have doen a search but to no avail. So as in the title, the engine is electric start, so I assumed there should be a charging circuit/alternator. But there doesn't appear to be one, can I fit one (or can anyone tell me where it would be or what wires to check?). Engine is a 40RL73D Many thanks...

    '73 Johnson 40 pee hole stops peeing

    As above at higher revs the pee hole stops ejecting water and the engine fluctuates.
