    1983 Evinrude wire locating.

    I believe it has an overheat alarm switch it's in the head about the centered on the edge on each side. I haven't seen anything that looks like I can remove to put in the sensor that came with the gauge.

    Anyone know if this motor has an rpm wire for a gauge and a temperature gauge wire? The temp sensor goes to the alarm, I don't know if the signal will work a gauge I install. It shows it to be a tan wire from the temp sensor. I don't know about the rpm or what color the wire is if it has one...

    Got it, I believe I just figure it out, looks like the black wires are for a trim gauge that this boat doesn't have.

    1983 Evinrude Tilt &Trim Wiring

    Trying to figure this wiring out, it has two wires (Blue and Green) for the up and down but also has two wires both black that goes to a switch just inside. Guessing it switches from trim to tilt after it's so high? Not sure how to wire those in.
