    noise when shifting

    90 hp merc, when I shift to reverse I get a pop sound just before it goes in to gear then it runs fine, It seems to affect nothing but it makes me very nervous. Does anyone have any ideas.

    cold start

    I have a 1983 90 hp inline 6 Brand new battery. It takes forever to get it started I hear the click telling me the choke works. Gas is getting to the carbs I can see it dripping out when I prime it, But the prime bulb does go soft. When it does start it runs great but if I shut it down for more...
