    Whale tail with short shaft

    I have a 1963 evinrude 10hp short shaft on a 16ft. Starcraft fishing boat. The boat really wants a long shaft motor. The transom has been notched down but i still can't run at full throttle without getting cavitation. Will a whale tail improve this problem?

    2 vs 3 blade

    I have a 10hp Envinrude and a 2 blade and a 3 blade prop for it. I can see that the pitch is different. The motor is on a 16ft. Starcraft Seafarer fishing boat and I've had problems with cavitation with the 3 blade prop. Would the 2 blade prop reduce cavitation?

    1954 Johnson coughs

    I have a 1954 10hp Johnson. The engine coughs at idle and runs smooth at more throttle. Any suggestions on where I should start?

    Lower unit

    I have a 1963 10HP Evinrude Sportwin. After running the engine the lower unit oozes a brown chocolate milk looking froth. I've checked the oil inside the lower unit and it looks normal. I'm thinking it needs new seals on lower unit. Am I correct? Or is this normal?
