    I switched the solenoid and ended up putting the starter in. It's working great, now to figure out why it's so hard to start for the first time.

    I am replacing my starter on my 4.3lx Mercruiser engine and the solenoid on the starter doesn't have two little posts like my old one did, does that matters? I was just going to put them purple and yellow wires on the same little post on the new starter. I have attached a photo of both starter...
