    So i live in riverside ca and its generally hot and dry. I can easily start my boat after 2-3 key turns.     Engine won't start...if i try it for an hour sometimes i can get a little putter out of it and throttle a bunch of times and it will catch and start . If it does start and i warm it up, it will start all day no problem. 2nd question, do the spark plugs on this engine need gap adjustment? if so...

    What octane gas for Volvo Penta AQ170a??

    Read the manual and it says to run 97 octane or will cause engine damage. Obviously outdated however I've been running 87. should i switch to 92 ?? if i mix the two is that ok?

    Volvo AQ170a wont exceed 3000 rpm help!

    Starts fine . idles fine . put it in gear and full throttle wont exceed 3000 rpm. putts along but id like it to go a little faster ya know:)

    Volvo Penta AQ170 overheats

    started overheating so replaced impeller, cleared all copper tubing and oil cooler. bypassed outdrive with hose and bucket and suction was there, but only at around 1500 rpm..(btw at what rpm should i be at normal idle) ..boat stayed at around 190 F....is this the right temp? also, noticed...
