    how to troubleshoot kill/ignition switch merc '90 115hp o/b

OK, will do. That's very helpful. I did a test yesterday I saw someone online recommended.. I disconnected the black/yellow from the switchbox and checked voltage between it and ground and saw zero(0), but when I turn the ignition key to run position, and checked volatage between the...

2008 115 hp mercury 4 stroke EFI bogging.

make sure you have good spark on all spark plugs. if not, coils, powerpack, etc might need. A bad coil and bad power pack and me and othe techs try all kinds of fuel and carb diags with no fix. Always check spark in issues with bogging, rough running, etc.

no spark, still smoke a bit? merc '90 115hp o/b

Last year swapped out all 4 coils, plugs, plug wires, and carb rebuilt. Engine was still half power, check spark and had 2 cylinders not sparking, so I changed out the powerpack for a cheapo from amazon. Worked great all summer. Fast forward to yesterday, we took out the boat for the first...

Low power, cylinders/carbs choked with oil?

What do you think the fix is to get it working normal again? new plugs? What do you think I need to do to avoid this in the future?

Low power, cylinders/carbs choked with oil?

I don't think they did. They focused on carb/plugs/coils/plug wires.

Low power, cylinders/carbs choked with oil?

Are you saying this is normal for the engine and I just need to maybe adapt to it? Would your suggestion be to always run the engine on high rpm before exiting the lake?

Low power, cylinders/carbs choked with oil?

Hi, After spending more than $2000 with the pro's I am coming here for help. I have a '90 115hp mercury outboard. Usually runs great. But after an hour or so of idling one day recently then storing the boat in the garage with the motor on the transom saver, then next time out it did not...

Primer bulb to transfer gas into another tank.

Anyone have a link to this type of adapter that I could buy online?

Primer bulb to transfer gas into another tank.

There IS a fuel/water separator, so maybe that is why it didn't work! hmm. But strange it works fine when connected to the motor. What does the motor do that makes it work? Does it have it's own one way valve? I tried to simulate this by holding my finger tight on the end of the line, but...

Primer bulb to transfer gas into another tank.

Once I removed the adapter it was just an open hose, nothing else on the end. I would assume it was a bad bulb, except it did work when connected to the motor. I might try it again holding the bulb upright.. maybe having the arrow pointing toward the ground messes with the suction?

Primer bulb to transfer gas into another tank.

hm, might have to replace bulb. maybe it only works when connected to the motor because the motor has it's own 1 way valve?

Primer bulb to transfer gas into another tank.

I thought so too! maybe bulb is bad. But why does it work fine when connected to the motor?

Primer bulb to transfer gas into another tank.

Hi, The other day I was towing my boat and was dangerously low on gas in my vehicle. I decided to disconnect the gas line going into my '90 115 hp mercury and remove the adapter at the end of the line, and thought I would smartly squeeze the primer bulb while dangling the open end of the...

Mercury 500 thunderbolt 50hp lower unit chip/notch leaking gear oil.

I started noticing a few drips of oil under the lower unit in my garage and upon further inspection found a very small chip/notch on the leading edge of the lower unit that had a slight bit of oil in it. The chip was about an inch below the fin. I quickly checked the lower unit oil and it was...
