    The push to choke key switch assembly will work just fine with your motor. Are you looking for just the key switch or the key switch panel assembly? I am guessing that you have a top mounted 704 control box. Why would you want a 703 prefix switch assembly that is designed for the 703 side...

    At key on engine off it should read atmospheric pressure. 14.7 psi/29.92" Hg or so. When the engine starts and idles it should be more or less 12" Hg. As you open the throttle the manifold pressure should rise. Retard the throttle and it should lower. 17 kpa (16.9 psi) seems too high IMO...

    HOT battery wires? That should be telling you something. They should be cool as a cucumber. Use jumper cables to power the starter motor directly. Does it now spin rapidly or still slowly?
