2000 Johnson 50 hp engine surging

Open every part that is down stream from that fuel line ! You could have loads of loose fibers sitting in every fuel area. Including the carb fuel lines and connectors. Put a real Fuel filter in the line before the fuel pump. To catch the next fuel line failure. Nice trouble shooting logic.(y)(y)

My Mercruiser V8 has a Master Large rubber plug & socket connector on top of the engine.. There are several SLOTTED pins in it. Engine would sometimes stop for no reason. i found out that the SPLIT PINS gap had aged to a smaller diameter. causing more & more frequent engine stops. I found if I...

    Growling in gear

Have you drained a little of the L U oil out to check color and for metal slivers ? I would drain ALL the oil out. To check it for slivers . Bearings can be sensitive to loads on or off of them. Sadly I would have the drive pulled apart to find a worn out or a spinning around bearing.

    LiFePO Batteries ???

Do not like that .2C internal current limit. By the internal ...BMS . Hopefully that is a typo error. Check with the company. My old LIFEPO4 tool packs can handle 2 X rated capacity during recharge. Has for decades. That is one of the advantages. A 5 hour recharge time is not right for a...

    Johnson temp issue

My small 9.9 and 28 APL motors have identical cables & plugs. The spring became wedged at a angle and somehow caused restricted flow alarm condition. Removed parts and put them back correctly. Been perfect for decades.

    Exuast backfires 1976 25hp evinrude

I used up 3 flywheel keeys until I was told to torque the nut to 90 pound feet !!! Mechanic said back firing is normal if the Woodruff flywheel gets loose. Johnson temp issue

All the Evinrude / Johnson motors I know of always had perfect high temperature sensors. BUT the thermostats had a bad part which caused a STICKY overheat alarm. I would race the motor up in gear and the alarm stopped in a second or 2. At 86 & heavy meds I do get confused sometimes.

    Johnson temp issue

Good logic. Try testing the switches first. Easier ? Swap them.
