    New Journey

Just some interesting notes from the tear down... Both the bow deck vertical supports(not just the horizontal lip/edge like on the SS models) and the lower side supports are solid riveted to/thru the hull. I drilled out the bow supports in order to get the front deck section out, but left the...

    New Journey

I’ve looked at some of the folding towers, but will likely just stick with the stock console configuration, modifying the dash layout and controls to my liking. I don’t want to run into issues with garage storage and the open concept will probably be more suitable for fishing. Will probably...

    New Journey

Current plan is to sell the ‘82 70hp Merc and find a late ‘80s or newer 115hp. I’ve got some time to sort it out and see what pops up for sale.

    New Journey

Wet deck and waterlogged foam. I often wonder how many boats are on the water in this condition on a regular basis. I can’t even look at an aluminum boat of this era as water ready anymore without a full rebuild.

    New Journey

Had a good trip north with the boys for a little shed hunting and time in the woods. Managed to get the deck pulled and maintained in a solid enough state to use as templates and hauled an enclosed trailer home with pretty much everything aside from the hull. Waiting till she’s home to pull...

    1974 Starcraft SS16 Restortation

Lookin’ great FIGMO! Been out of town the past few days and catching up on all the posts. Love how the deck and hatches all turned out and great job with the lighting.

Shoestring Starcraft SS160 Resto-mod - let the long slow road begin

I think I have about 25 each in both 3/16 and 5/32 and never really felt I needed more. Granted, I haven’t needed to do any major repairs, but i think about 20-25 each makes for a adequate supply. They are well worth the investment in my opinion, especially when working alone. I’d put the air...

The novice build: 1968 Starcraft SuperSport V-16 "The Boat"

Welcome! You can to the right place for solid and knowledgeable advice. There are many different groups out there on FB and such, but they are flooded with all sorts of various advice and ideas from those that may be appropriate to some that are outright wrong and/or dangerous. They crew here...

    1974 Starcraft SS16 Restortation

Nice work! How much of a gap are you leaving for the Nautolex on the hatches? I'm debating making my own as you have, or just installing some pre-fab flush mount ones like the Tempress or DPI Marine.

1963 Starcraft Starmist? replacing floor - HELP

Not familiar with the Starmist, but the deck/layout looks very similar to the Jetstar, Nova, and smaller Holiday runabouts. Looks like you countersunk the rivets. Not sure if you used 3M5200 when you sank them in, but some skim over the countersinks with the 5200 or MarineTex before laying...

1975 StarCraft Mariner build "The Unicorn"

I fished some ratchet straps through the splashwell drain holes (need to fish it in between the transom skin) and back up to the cross member of the kids swing set. Tighten the straps down until it begins to lift the hull off the trailer and you can raise/lower the height of the stern by...

Post a pic of your starcraft!

Looking back through all these great pictures, I realized I never included mine: 1978 16SS 1972 15ft Nova 1983 MR180

    Hello all, new here.

Nice Holiday! I think it needs a taller ladder though... 😁

    New to me 16ft Starcraft!

Check out the "joggle stick method" for templating your deck if you run into fitment issues. I used it for the bow casting deck on my 16SS and it worked like a champ.

    1988 Starcraft Mariner MR 220 V rebuild

I've only used the grey, never the white. I've always associated the white with glassers and the grey with tin boats:) Personally, I'd stick with the grey.

    1978 22' V5 Super Sport CC

Likely converted from the dual consoles with the V5 SS plate. Not sure they ever produced a V5 CC from the factory, but I sure like it. You can see the side console mounting bracket still on the starboard side, but the front deck and console look to be standard Starcraft CC/MR/Mariner...

    Wanted 1981 Mariner emblem

Unless you're trying to keep in original, I'd lean towards a vinyl replacement. As jbcurt00 noted, like a needle in a haystack and probably much easier to find some sort of alternative.

Opinions on seating arrangement on my newly restored 1976 16’ SS

My Springfield pedestals were swapped around pretty easily. I had a few different heights depending on if I had my kids or other adults along. The pedestals themselves are pretty cheap.

    1972 Holiday seat replacement

I’m in the same boat (haha, see what I did there) looking to redo my seats/cushions. I plan to replace the backers with some new ACX ply, seal with epoxy, and see if I can salvage the vinyl covers to use as a template for new replacements. Likely need to find a local upholstery shop to sew...
