    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

68 working days. Figure over how many months but still, pretty incredible pace given some days I wasn't starting until 10 and calling it quits at 8 or so. I don't think I worked on it past 21:30 once. And that also counts days I only put in an hour or two and left. Any day I was there counted.

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

Finished is a stretch. I have a small punch list to take care of still. Bow rail fittings, cabin needs to be upholstered and resealing the windshield/rub rail. It's fine for now but still needs some stuff done. But that stuff was always going to be done at a later time.

Anti-siphon fittings and electric fuel pumps question.

That was actually a step in the trouble shooting and it still didn't take off. But perhaps I didn't give it enough time to take off. Thanks Bondo I'll have to look a little closer.

Anti-siphon fittings and electric fuel pumps question.

So the boat is assembled and I got my first shakedown run in yesterday. Uneventful other than the test run on the trailer I couldn't get the fuel system to prime. I pulled the pickup and replaced the anti siphon fitting with a normal barbed fitting. Fuel pump picked up and primed no issues so I...

Maybe. Next outing I'll take a peak while someone else drives.

It sounds like wailing a block of wood with a sledge once. Honestly maybe something floating in the water both times?

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

The final line? 68 working days to launch and 33 gallons of resin. 5 sheets of half inch ply, 4 3/4. 35 yards of 1708, 15 yards of CSM. 13 gallons of foam, 30 lbs of milled fibers, 12 lbs of cabosil. A lot of elbow grease and a smile that can't be contained. I haven't finished the cost...

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

The shake down run.... Well, I don't know what to say about this other than I got in a full 3 hour run. Covered a distance of 40 miles. Zero, and I mean zero issues other than 1 noise which it made prior to the rebuild. A single loud thud that seems to be the engine but I am unsure. So that...

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

Which leads me to Friday and Saturday.... Friday I began installing the interior. I just ripped through cleaning everything and didn't take any pictures of that process. Here is more or less what was done sans the engine box and back hatch. And yes, I know what you're thinking.... "that looks...

Why I do not have new boats.

I don't know. The 33 was "gifted" to us in 2010. It had 36 hours on it. And even then we were kind of like... We don't really need it. Looking back, no sane person would've had that thought cross their mind.

    cooking

I've done Naan in a cast skillet and cooked inverted over a stove burner. Works pretty damn well. Done tiki masala a lot. Usually lamb.

    4.3 vortec Mercruiser..lots of questions

You can also rent a universal cooling system tester from any auto parts store. Block the hoses and jam it in the thermostat housing or circulating pump hose and plug the other side. That's how I did mine.

    The End

I've had the 4 winns up on ice pulling it out before in NJ. That's how you know you got your moneys worth out of the season. Local summer starts the day after labor day anyway. About a quarter of the checkbook captains out as there are May-August.

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

So the boat is mostly rigged. I've been down at the fire academy so I haven't really done much today or tomorrow or Thursday. But I'm slated to take the maiden voyage Friday hopefully. I'm getting excited. I want to check the fuel tank for leaks once full but honestly... I don't think it's needed.

SEI preload and a stern jack

I knew a few guys running them. Some hulls picked up a couple MPH but most had no real change. They sure look cool though.

2006 Monterey Boat with a 4.3L Mercruiser TKS Engine S/N 0w354897 Mysterious Loss of Power

You could do it with the ignition on, you would have to jump the oil pressure switch in order to power the fuel pump that way, or just supply 12v directly to the fuel pump. Whatever is easier for you. I keep a jumper on hand to bypass the switch incase my oil pressure switch fails. My thought...

    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

Wow this thread was a ride. I think all this really highlights is the need to have more than 1 boat. If I could afford 1 more I would.
