    I don't see a 10 mph increase.....maybe 5. Props aren't magical . They're for fine tuning.The #'s you see are for the same boat, load , and conditions. Props were new Merc. 3-16x13 and a 3-16x12. You can see the 12 pitch hit 22.5 mph@6000. I could hit 6100+ rpm which could get me 23+ mph but...

    all that's left, then, is to scope the cylinders....and revisit the type of pistons (domed maybe?) ....was there a performance head available? What octane fuel are you running? question...can a motor run as good as you say with water infiltration as mentioned?

    these are my #'s with different props. 3 give the same #'s, 1 is my load prop. There isn't a magical prop, at least not for me. Not for trying. And a pontoon isn't a planing hull, but props aren't magical. The #'s are just not that far apart.

    A Merc. 3 blade 16x13 pushed my pontoon to it's best performane #'s lightly loaded. 25+ mph but maxed rpms were 5800. 6000 is ideal. But it was a dog when loaded down. A Merc 3 blade 16x12 gave only 22+ mph @6000...I could go over the 6000 however. But when loaded down (pulling teens on tubes)...

    It's just what I've always been told. But all miscellaneous issue should be fixed before spending money on props. And agreed, if that prop hub/gearcase isn't a match, it won't work. and see pic.. mine is black. maybe you don't need one.

    Every compression test I've ever done is with all plugs out and WOT while cranking. That's what I learned 50+ years ago when I started messing with engines. There was no internet so this knowledge came from quality, reliable service manuals and other publications. didn't see that mentioned...

    ok...here. This is a 2021 Merc 115 hp CT pushing a twin tube (25") pontoon. 5800 - 10.6 gph.......2.35 mpg 5000 - 7.0. ". ......3.1. " 4000 - 4.1. ". .......4.3. " 3000 - 2.15. ". ......5.5. " 2000 - 1.2. " ......5.4. " These #'s ,+/- 0.2, are from 3 of my props...
