    Yes, ensure engine is cooling, and next time it happens, check for spark immediately. Could be a coil heating up, but I doubt that would happen in just 2 minute. Closely examine the wiring, coils, and ground wires.

    what is with the 2 piece transom? Looks like someone already added 5.5" to the original transom. Model and year? HP rating? Your intended HP? I would be very hesitant to add any additional height. Photo of entire transom please.

    Yes, looks like a very cramped layout. It is not structural. Unscrew the tank from the floor. Clip the wires, remove the fuse. Disconnect the fill and drain tubes, plug and seal them with 3M 4200 sealant -- NOT silicone. Sealing the other end, where they exit the hull is a good idea as well...

    1987 model year. Triangular - port to crankcase to supply pressure pulse to operate the fuel pump. ? Make sure you get the fuel pump rebuild kit for the square fuel pump. Older models used a different style pump.
