I guess your question is what happens on deceleration if prop don't ratchet(free spin)?
Well the gearcase and prop drag tend to push the bow down faster on the non ratchet, just need adjust driving style to get used to it..
Please bypass the above posted info as it relates to older models..... Most all V-6 motors from around 1999 and up use non ratcheting gears/dogs. If you shift it into gear and it turns motor your good as long as you got a neutral
Just likely a bad casting ...had 2 Hoss Triton fling a blade from porous casting(@$850 ea) last 2 were x-rayed before use and sent for lab work. Sucks when you get over$1K in a prop.
Get you a set of carbs from a 1989 to 1995 56ci 70Hp and take head to machine shop and have shaved .030. Bolt these back on and ...presto chango its a 70hp.
