    Once again, does the prop allow your engine to reach max operating rpm with a light load ! Typically a 4 blade prop uses approx 2" less pitch to achieve the max rpm on the motor over a 3 blade prop. Gotta make up for the extra blade. Weight means little, max rpm under wot is the formula needed.

    Typical running speed has no bearing on what prop you need. The props pitch needs to max the wot rpm of the motor, then it will be the correct match thru out your operating range

    Keep in mind that 3500# tow cap on your Jeep, includes the extra weight in the tow vehicle, not just what is being towed. Supplies, passengers, coolers etc all should be figured into the tow weight. Perhaps a bigger tow vehicle might be in order to get you into the size boat you really need.

    On my setup, I tilt the main motor up to create less drag with the prop out and just the skag in the water, you won't turn on a dime but plenty of steering for trolling. If tighter steering is needed just lower the main motor.

    According to the mfgr, all adjustments from fuel mixture , idle speed etc should be made while in water, in gear and underway at idle. Recommended idle speed is 600-650 rpm. You need good spark to reach these rpms. With a weak spark, it will stall out.

    Fuel stabilizer should be added with each filling when only being used ocassionally. Gonna bet you have some poor fuel issues. I would start with a tank of fresh treated fuel !
