    Campatibility with OMC Cobra outdrive

An SEI drive last I checked is under $2k brand new. Swapping and making it work will eat more money than you would think

    Campatibility with OMC Cobra outdrive

It will work but it won’t be right. I don’t think there is a prop that will match the setup. They are the same except the drive ratio is very different

    Campatibility with OMC Cobra outdrive

Yup SEI makes replacement drives for an alpha gen 2. OMC is obsolete marine corporation

    Campatibility with OMC Cobra outdrive

This is a major step backwards. Would not recommend going through with it. OMC engine with mercruiser accessories bolted on will be perfectly acceptable. Buy an SEI drive to complete it. OMC drive will not fit a mercruiser transom assembly. And OMC is obsolete. You wouldn’t want to actually put...

    Abandoned Mark Twain boat

Appears a 180V looks right. It was a bowrider missing its passanger console and all windows. You can google pics of a 180V and even the stripe is right

Can I install a newer outdrive?

SEI will sell you a new outdrive and parts needed to install it as cheaply as you will get. Think you can basically go up to alpha one gen one which is about 1990

    5.8 OMC Cobra motor replacement

You can swap to a Chevy with a number of parts ( Mercruiser swap most economical ) OR, you can get a 5.8L/351W from I think a 1994-1997 Ford F150/250/350 ( 1996 for F150 however ). The only reason the year matters is because of the roller cam and the required distributor gear.. You'll need...

Are wheel locks the way to go?

I used to use a pin lock for the coupler when hooked to my truck as I bought a new trailer. But then it dawned on me that the draw bar was only pinned in place. Now I lost the key to the lock and just pin it. At the end of the day it’s not going to stop a thief.

Fuel System questions for Mercruiser 260 EFI Conversion

    7.5 gamefisher

I had a couple minutes to glance at sears parts direct. And I’m seeing this motor as having points. So would a Nova II ignition module work to bypass them? I happen to have a few. I’ve never worked on a 2 stroke techumseh except an old Toro snowblower. I know I can file the points and change the...

    Bought a rotted boat

Watch YouTube videos on boats where the transom collapsed and sinks. Then decide if your family is worth the risk. Floor is rotted so is transom

    7.5 gamefisher

I don’t think this one is a Force. It looks like the white one that Musti has on YouTube except it’s black. It’s air cooled and has a lawn mower type blower housing under the cover making me think it’s a techumseh engine and I think an Eska built ob

    7.5 gamefisher

I don't. It's black, thinking 80's model. I didn't pay 'that' much attention to it when he asked as the Evinrude 4hp is a 2 pull starter. BUT 7.5 is more than 4 so there is that.. If we can get it going, it's worth trying. He bought the motor with a 6 gallon tank for like $60 at an auction

    7.5 gamefisher

My girlfriends father has one of these for his little boat. Never had it running. Spins with compression. I know it’s not a first choice in fact I have a good running evinrude 4hp to give him. But what should we do to get it going? I know it’s a techumseh 2 stroke power head. Will a 4hp plane a...

    Trim/tilt rams: delete?

No offense but if you can’t afford the pump, you can’t afford the fuel. Check ebay as used pumps are often found for little of nothing ( in marine parts cost terms ) and the biggest failure is the relays. They are serviceable units
