    Some good stuff happening

So I stepped outside this morning. First time I've been out of the house since my surgery 4 days ago. It was nice to walk around the yard a little. Temp was only 77 but humidity was 97%. Stifling! I just wanted to see how the yard was doing. Checked on how the grass was growing on the...

    Tips to beat the heat?

Summer water temps here are in the upper 80s or low 90s. And there are "things" in the water... we don't go in the water!

    1974 Starcraft Chieftain Overhaul

Pool noodles aren't the way to go. They don't provide as much flotation and can absorb water. Foam board insulation is the way to go. Many of us have used it with success. :)

The only way I can get pix to upload is to transfer them to PowerPoint, save them as a .jpg file then resize them in my photo software. A pain. So I'm gonna stop with this one. At least y'all can see the "runway" effect.

    Some good stuff happening

Hi all. I'm back again. My buddy came over with his tractor and started leveling the piles. Only took him about 1/2 hour to knock them down and start the leveling process. But then he had to leave again. Sigh. Someday soon it'll all be done!

Thanks. I hope you have a safe and enjoyable splash! I did read about your replacement tires. Good move. The yard and new pad area are still unchanged for how. Plenty of work left to to. Am hoping my buddy is available to move dirt again soon. Still looks like this:

    Some good stuff happening

Several more weeks have passed and more work has been done. Still very slow going though. Part of the reason is due to my health again. I finally tapered completely off the steroids but doing so caused me to have withdrawal symptoms like weakness, excruciating pain and the inability to move...

A Diamond in the Ruff? Or a guaranteed frying pan to the head from the Admiral?

I had one of those when I lived up north 20 years ago. Nice boat. Used it on the Chesapeake Bay and lower Potomac River. My kids liked it a lot too. It had a 75hp Chrysler and would run about 25mph with that motor. Sold it here the day I brought it down to Florida. The guy who helped me...

Starcraft '73 16' Holiday (refurb by relative newbies)

This is how I did it on our Kingfisher. We used 3/4" rigid foam because that was the only size available in our area. Larger sizes are made and might be available to you.

    Some good stuff happening

Started to open the tent shelter side panels this afternoon but the rains came and we had to stop. Did get the KF covered though. We're supposed to have rain every day for the next week which is contrary to what we usually have in May. Will try to get the panels opened when the weather...

Forgot to post these pix of the boy after we completed working on the 14th. He's wanting to go fishing! :D

    Some good stuff happening

Got more stuff done today, including working on boat stuff! :D We swapped the trailer jacks around on all 3 boats. The one which had been on the Chieftain was bad and needed to be replaced. Instead of buying a new one I switched them around. The one on the donor boat had previously been on...

    Some good stuff happening

Got the concrete blocks from the old garden plot moved this morning. Was so good to feel that I had the strength again to do that. Just 3 weeks ago I couldn't even pick one up by myself. Today the boy and I got all 14 of the blocks into the tractor trailer and moved. The boy picked up the...

    Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

Project boat already stripped and ready for reassembly. Rivets included. $450. I'd be tempted myself but simply can't justify another project. Not without frying pan prints upside my haid! 18' with clear title... a rarity here in Florida! :lol...

This is my place as seen on Google Earth. Wish I still had my drone so that I could take some aerial footage. The yellow outlines show some of the trees/shrubs which have been removed. More were removed at the bottom of the picture but I don't know exactly which ones so I didn't circle those...

    Some good stuff happening

The last few days have been interesting to say the least. A couple days ago we loaded the leftovers from the burn pile into the back of my truck to take them to the dump. Wasn't enough there to fuss with burning it again. So off we went. Didn't make it in time as the dump had closed 7...
