    1968 Merc 6 Hp Model 60

There is a small drilled hole (maybe 1/8" dia) on the port side of the gear housing at about the 10 o'clock position near the front. It appears to be design intent as if it were a weep hole yet, I can find no reference to it in the Merc service manual. The alternative is that the hole is the...

    Flywheel thread sizes for puller

My 1968 Model 60 6.0 Hp flywheel needs pulling. I cannot determine the 1/4 inch thread number for the 3 puller attachment holes. They don't seem to be 1/4 20 or 1/4 28. Are they something else? I don't want to force bolts in there and risk cross threading. Someone must know?

However, I...

    39082 Fuel Pump

To answer this Merc #39082 fuel pump Q will likely require someone with vast knowledge and experience. No dealer or any parts retailer or the commonly available repair manuals can answer my issue, not even Merc in Fon du Lac could! There is an error in the info Merc has made available to the...

    Check valve

I have a 1968 Merc Model 60 (6 Hp) motor. In the parts list for the fuel pump besides the customary gaskets and diaphragm (ref: 21-22974A-3) are 2 "check valves". What are their function and what would be the symptoms if they were malfunctioning or shy?
