    Question on Shore power

Lights can and do burn out over time. Let me get this straight.... When you connect shore power you don't get power at the breaker or receptacle. When you plug in the "portable washer thing" into the shore power connection, (assume 120 VAC ) you get power to the breaker and receptacle? Obvious...

2006 Honda BF225 Emergency Stop bypass

If it works the same as most of them, it's simply a normally open or closed switch. Cutting or disconnecting the wires wouldn't disarm the switch Look at the back of the switch to see if they didn't simply jumper the wires going to the switch together. That would be the simplest way to defeat...

Fluorocarbon line is less pliable than other lines.

Stren was the name brand of the day back then. Used it exclusively for years. It wasn't until I got into saltwater fishing that a line's characteristics (diameter, stretch, abrasion resistance, knot strength, etc.) had to be taken into consideration. Only then did I start looking at other...

Question on NMEA connection for marine VHF

The converter kit gets you NMEA 2000 from the VHF (on a connector)..... you still need the backbone to connect the two units together.

    ETEC Outboard Dual Throttles uneven

Depends on why they are uneven. If the linkage is just plain out of adjustment or stretched, sure. If the adjustments are different to compromise for engine related issues, not so much.

    Covering boat w/ T-Top on a lift ????

No easy way to secure a trap like cover to withstand weather with a boat hanging on a lift. It's my experience that you need a snap-on, fitted cover to stand a chance of success. Even then, you get tired of taking it off and on........liberal use of a hose prior to use becomes a more and more...

Question on NMEA connection for marine VHF

Normally you would install a NMEA 2000 backbone to connect the two units. But I don’t see anywhere in the docs that your VHF supports NMEA 2000 communications Likewise, I don’t see that the Axiom supports NMEA 0183 communications. Need to talk with Ray about NMEA 0183 connectivity. If they...
