    omc shift shaft seal

    I changed the o-ring and wiper seal and now the shaft moves real hard up and down. How much pressure shold it take to move the shift shaft by hand and also could I have put the wiper seal on up side down and could that be making the shaft so hard to move. Thanks for any help. 86 cobra 4.3

    I am trying to put the o-ring on the shift shaft cover for omc cobra drive I did change the wiper seal. The o-ring gos on the bronze bushing on the bottom of the cover I cannot get it to stay on.     I need to change out the throttle control box has anyone switched theres that takes the omc type 479 cables? If not is it hard to switch to the 33-c type cables that seems to be what all the control boxes I find take thanks for any advice...... (86 4.3 Cobra)

    How do I loosen these three screaws they will not budge should I use and inpact and hammer or is there a trick to loosen them up. Thanks for any help it is the throttle assy. for a omc 4.3 sticks when first put in gear.
