    5.0 Liter top end issues

    :)Okay..23 footer with a Yamaha 5 liter. Supposedly a marinized Chevy small block from what I was told. Starts and runs great up to 3600 Revs, 34 mph or so..push beyond 3600 - sounds like loses power, revs down, but never stalls, then revs up..speed climbs slowly but 7-9 mph off last years top...

    Shifter or Engine Issue ?

    Howdy all..Had the boat (23 ft Rinker Festiva) tuned up this year. It has a Yamaha 5.0 liter with a an OMC Outdrive. 225 hp at 4500 rpm. Was running fine first month of the season. A few trips ago, running it to 4k rpm caused it to hesitate above 3500 rpm..top end speed has slowed considerably...
