    The knocking and lack of power is a concern.----Some will slam me for suggesting a compression test.-----Do yourself a favor and post the actual values you get from a compression test.

    In a test bucket the water must 6 or 8" above the impeller.

    Pump impellers are offset in the housing.----Have to be in order to work.

    Sorry ----I did not read all the posts on this one.----Should be simple to figure out why this motor will not crank.----Perhaps a bad ground from solenoid small terminal.

    I think the shift rod can only go in one way on these.----Might not be easy to stick back in if it was actually pulled out.----Bearing carrier might need to be pulled out.

    With a few drops of fuel in cylinders the motor should " roar like a wild lion " -----The flywheel key is there to get correct timing.-----The flywheel taper and crank taper drive the flywheel when torqued to 100 FT LBS.----If tapers are not matched , key may shear again.---Use valve grinding...

    Remove carburetor bowls.-----Are they clean or is there green " varnish in them ?----Did you remove high speed jets ( orifice plug ) to make sure they are clean?-----Is the fuel pump mounted directly to the side of the top cylinder ?
