    The only issue there would be metric threads, some are so close to SAE that a scale won't work, not ckose/ accurate enough..

    Thread pitch gages are cheap, most good hardware stores carry them. Just match the threads and read the pitch.

    Is the key in the flywheels in the same position in relation to the magnets ?? Your explanation of the change over makes me suspect that there is your problem...

    Most good ones are 110 volt, most 12v battery units are pretty cheap on quality. There are some good ones I found back when I had a motorhome, but they are not cheap.

    If you didn't stabilize the fuel, you probably have a mess. How much of a gap does the spark jump.

    If your numbers are accurate, it shoukd run or at least fire when fuel is put in the cylinder unless the spark plug is bad/ fouled...

    I always buy the appropriate product for the job at hand, the cost means very little when compared to the replacement cost or cost of having to do it over !! Learned that lesson early on in my 73 years !!

    Look in the back of the container in the small print, they say meets or exceeds all requirements of marine industry for Mercury, Omc etc or something of that nature. Valvoline, Pennzoil, Supertech, Quicksilver all say that on the containers at my local Walleyworld...
