    Check for any holes on the underside of the integrated platform or inside of any ladder hatch that may be part of the platform. Ideally, you should be able to get the back end of the boat submerged over the top side of the platform and still not have any issues.

    I was thinking, maybe the hull could be re-made of foam/fiberglass, using the keel and ribs as scantlings for the shape of the hull and foam sheets as the hull planks. Not sure what class rules are on hull material and/or modifications. It will be interesting to see what the wooden boat 'guru'...

    Interesting that a baisc tune-up fixed it. I'm glad it worked out. (y) Usually that is not the case with MPI engines . . . and they drag you through the mud of parts replacements.

    I would make stringers out of plywood . . . I think you will have better strength-to-weight.

    Vinyl Ester, if you are concerned that polyester resin is not good enough. I like using VE resin, because the working time before the resin starts to harden is longer than poly resin and the adhesion is better. No real need to use epoxy in a general re-build, and Poly and VE won't stick to...

    I did it !!! :D (y) 🤪 . I just needed to get the gear set on my bench so I could get a bit of leverage on it. Essentially I had to push down on the top gear with a fair amount of force until it 'shifted'. It all was easy from there.

    Yes, considering the cost, I decided for the 3"needed I'd just rely on a long 'tube' to couple the 2 sections of the exhaust system together. Seems to be easier said than done. :rolleyes:

    The only thing that I notice is that the cone clutch is engaged in the 'top' gear, but I'm not sure how to release it back to a 'neutral' state. . . if that matters :unsure:
