    Ayuh,...... Sorry to hear ya dumped so much money into the hull,..... 'bout the only way to salvage it now is to repower it with a Merc, or Volvo driveline,.... Yer block is replaceable, but there's virtually no parts available for the rest of the stringer specific bits,.....

    Ayuh,..... On older motors the timin' tab was mounted on the block, which puts the Btc on the left,..... With the timin' tape on the balancer, the Btc is on the right,.....

    Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,...... Sounds like a corroded wirin' connection,.... Both the positive, 'n grounds need to be taken apart, 'n cleaned to shiny metal Clean,.... Another possibility is a cable with internal corrosion,..... A third could be a weak starter, bad brushes, etc,....

    Ayuh,...... As someone that's done this quite a few times(restorin' classic hulls, that had stringer power), hold out til ya find the driveline ya want,.... The Alpha, Gen.II has been 'round since 1990, so rotten hulls are 'round with 'em, 'n can be had for under $3500..... In good runnin'...
