    Hi Was wondering if anyone can tell me what gear oil I use for this engine. Will car gear box oil do the job? Any hints on how to change the oil?

    power from old johnson 35hp

    I have an old johnson 35hp outboard, manual start, and was wondering if it is possible to get power from the stator and use it to charge a battery or power some nav lights so I can use it at night or run some electrical instruments off it.
