    Upgrading from 1977 Evinrude 2 stroke to 2014 Mercury 4 stroke

    Due to the lack of reliability on the water, I am intending on upgrading my 1977 70hp 2 stroke Evinrude to a 2014 60hp Mercury Bigfoot. I am assuming that the 37 year difference in age would mean exponentially more reliability among other benefits. Can anyone comment on this?

    1975 70 hp Evinrude won't throttle all the way up

    I was heading back to the marina at full throttle when I hit a bit of wake causing the engine to slow down. I was very low on fuel and thought this might be the problem since the throttle would adust on it's own as the boat rocked. I filled up at the gas dock with 91 ethanol free, 50:1 2 stroke...
