    why worry about that. check to see if it is stuck open I just reread your other post, I have no idea how air would be coming out of the pisser, maybe it is exhaust gases from a blown head gasket letting exhaust into the cooling passages

    exactly what would block the water from coming out of the stat opening with it out? if water does not get up to the top of the head/block it is ot pumping properly

    drop it into the water and try it, sometimes they have trouble on a hose. did you use a Yamaha water pump kit or after market?

    have you put a timing light on the motor to see exactly what the idle timing is when cold and after the motor has warmed up? also when at high RPM. good compression, good spark at the correct time, and proper fuel to air. test what you can and then chase the fuel to air my 1999 C40 had a bad...

    30 hours in 17 years is not good for a motor. I am not sure what 100% gas is now a days. seems that motor has spent it's life sitting and not having much fresh fuel fed to it. good luck with it from now on, but you need to run it more often

    only way to know if you have the motor propped right is to run it WOT to see what RPM it gets too. you do not have to keep running it hard tho

    make sure the stats operate in spec., cold motor makes oil sometimes slow running, idling, or trolling tends to make oil too over propped does to I think. what RPM will it hit at WOT
