    why do you refer to the timing fixture as only able to provide approximate timing when it will do exactly what a timing light will do which is to fire the plug dead center between the timing marks. are we splitting hairs ??

    that sediment bowl is a fuel filter and needs the gasket #51 to seal the glass bowl . the filter must be carb cleaned and blown dry the spring takes practice ... search utubes . visit AOMCI ask a member site where oldies are pampered

    pull the carb ...clean all orifices blow all passages 6hp is a wonderful little engine should work great. lots of utubes to help you clean that carb...you may as well check under the flywheel check all electricals, replace condensers if never done clean the points etc...etc...

    the fused power only feeds the T&T relays with very little amp draw... removing the middle EMM connector J1B as been known to confirm a defective EMM .... (the fuse only stops blowing with all accessories still connected indicating that the amp draw is mainly the EMM . If recall correctly...

    don't make it more complicated.... Remove the FW and just set points at .020 on the hight point of the cam lobe or get the pointy tool ..works great just... openning at the mark is more critical than the gap itself

    I have never seen a 9.5hp with that filter ... but the MQ10 1964 shows one. they must have kept the mold same for part 15 19 & 20 idle limiter molding btw for easy scren grabs use windows key - caps and S buttons

    on older engines the crankcase residual fuel-oil mix is simply purged out in the water or recirculated to the top of the engine by a side recirculation hose. They even have recirculation concept on modern E-TEC engines ! if you can't solve your problem and you are loosing sleep on it...
