    see picture clean out the lower exit route check bypass exit back flush it install the head gasket and cyl head back flush from cyl jacket exit water should flow back out the entry point

    Great ! it is now a wait and see... my 75ETEC is 17 years old with no injector issues yet but I guess anything can happen. MINd you I have less than 600 hrs on mine I would insist on getting a EMM log dump because "thinking" the injectors are the cause is just thinking and guessing...

    ok found this utube... fuel nipple is just an inlet nipple....nothing to worry about see video of the 88 40hp carb probably identical to yours :) the top idle jet is actually for AIR not fuel !! I learned something today :-)

    see diagram... see parts 6 and 9 #6 is called " fuel nipple" and obviously it must pass fuel #2 lead plug must be in #9 idle jet must be clean . I never saw a par16 on older carbs so this newer e carb body was molded for it ... it is all in your hands now :-)

    does water get in the GC...? maybe best to look for a spare shaft or just change the oil mid season if it does leak some welding shops can " blast" weld" the groove away $$$$ but not very cost effective on a 50 y old motor. oil is cheaper :-)

    great find... looking at that drawing It did not show that brass tube the side channel route used for ages does not seem to used on this carb if an internal feeder tube is used to route fuel to the upper LS jet and drip chamber. In any event I think you are on the way to happiness :-)...
