    When key is ON power goes to the TKS module, and since your not getting the voltage there is a disconnect somewhere. With your diode overheating, 20 amp fuse blowing, it may be that the module was is the issue

    Agree, get some oil in the cylinders Its on top the motor and usually near the 50 amp breaker, pic below. Turn key ON, then jump across the 2 top terminals to see if the motor cranks over. If it still will not crank, then you probably have a boat anchor and need a new motor

    Howdy I use to recommend isolator's my self, and still have one on my Rinker, but now recommend the ACR (automatic charge relay). You need a manual switch in order to combine batteries when needed. Its also a good thing to have for a simple battery disconnect so electrical work can be done...

    Looked thru 97 and 98 and both should use the 4 port thermostat housing as seen below. I would say your thermostat is either not installed correctly or there is something which is allowing water to bypass the thermsoat

    There should be a 90 amp fuse on the starter post, some have removed them, but most have not. This fuse is to protect the battery if the ALT shorts out.

    This is a GSI and the oil pressure has no direct connection to the fuel pump. This isn't The GSI but so far as the oil switch its the same The green/yellow does not go to the key switch, and the ECM applies a ground to this wire, no power

    I think there is a fuse and relay on the motor, but being a 87 not real positive Also appears my last post didn't show up with the wiring diagram, so will try again

    The top of the pin goes into a upper bushing. You've gone this far I would replace then bushings if there is any play what so ever.

    Sounds like there is a difference between 87 and newer motor, but it was working before, so if you connect wires from pin 1 thru pin 10 you have it.

    Might be might not, just not enough info for me to make a guess. Is the battery fully charged and can read 12.8V? .There is a slave solenoid on top the motor. Jumper across the two top terminals to see if the starter turns the motor over. Looks like this

    Another fuel pump issue.

    You have an EFI motor and the oil pressure switch does not make a connection for power to the fuel pump. The switch sends a ground to the ECM telling it that there is a loss in oil pressure. The ECM supplies the ground to the fuel pump to turn it ON/OFF Don't know if you have a MEFI 1 or 3...
