    yes, that fitting is part of your cooling system that is where the cooling water goes between the drive pickup and the motor that fitting is on the list of things that gets checked/serviced annually or every 100 hours (which ever occurs first)

    the power steering cooler does make an effective filter. .210 inner diameter tubes are much smaller than the .31" diameter strainer holes in the outdrive.

    you glue the carpet to the sides of the hull, you trim at the floor/side seam you glue the carpet to the deck of the hull, you trim at the floor/side seam or you glue to the sides and make the deck snap in. however that requires you to hem the cut edges.

    Because you are looking at an older manual or the image is from a 95 or earlier motor with a stamped stwel timing cover You should have the voyager distributor, put the distributor in base timing mode and follow the instructions
