    So I took weed eater string and ran it as far as I could where the tale comes out of side of motor, then took vst off took apart cleaned it, didn't look bad,checked all plugs and coils made sure everything was tight I had them off previously just looking at plugs, took boat out all day...

    So after inspecting the starter I found the two mounting bolts were lose and when I put my finger on the bolt that holds the ground on the starter it just fell off very lose so got all that tightened

    Ok so just looking around I'm finding little metal shavings all over Stb side of motor they look like there coming from where the starter meets the flywheel the teeth on both look worn and shiny , could this have anything to do with it or just another problem?

    2000 evinrude 50hp 4stroke after engine gets hot when I get up to 5000 rpms or higher about three min I lose power and rpms drop to around 2500 to 3000, I can run it at 4500rpms and it runs fine ,and when I throttle down to around 2500 to 3000rpms for a min I can throttle back up and is ok...

    Ok the pic of the one from e bay that has cracks in same place as mine, the seller messaged back and told me that those are casting marks they are just on the surface do not go through. So I checked mine and they are just on surface they don't show on under side what y'all think?

    Yea I really don't want to have to take power head off just to change this out! It looks like just the shift rod goes through it, but it is a Suzuki that evinrude sold as their own
