Good to keep the tank actually vented. Still, heating and cooling can cause the primer hose to pump against the fuel pump in the motor, blowing out the diaphragm, causing a lot of gas to get into the oil crankcase.
Any steering setup is OK. I prefer single push-pull cable to twin tiller cable for safety. Throttle and shift are standard, off the shelf clamp type 3300 cables.
