Mercruiser 2.5L starts but overheats. Can’t figure out why. We deleted the thermostat and still gets gets hot. We had motor muffs on and the system was getting water. Thinking maybe the water pump but can’t find if there are any other common issues.
I am looking for information on this boat. I’m wondering if anyone can tell me what it is. The title says it’s a 1977 sport master, model 16MAG. When I look it up I can’t find anything on it. It has a Mercrusier 120 2.5L inboard motor.
