I have a 1987 Bayliner 1750 with a 2.3L OMC that was converted to electronic ignition with Pertronix ML-141C and 3 ohm Flamethrower coil.
The coil was only getting 7 volts with the key on due to the resistor wire. It started/ran like that, but was too much resistance for the CDI shift assist...
