I love my 04' RAM 2500. I've looked at some of the newer ones, but I hear WAY too many things going wrong with cars/trucks built after 2020. So, until I have to make a new decision I'm gonna' keep this one going.
Wife and kids were up north. I was home alone, so wound up just going into work - not knowing what else to do.
Remember seeing an F16 element flying CAP south of Nashville.
If you could confirm that the outdrive worked, then selling it as a whole could be a plan. If not, you can pretty easily tell if the upper is good, and sell that.
I don't actually know the answer on the nylon washer. I don't recall mine having one.
There's something strange about the stress on the worm gear if you're getting cracks in them. The clutch pack should pretty much hold the drive in place. If the drive is slamming down - or even coming down...

I've never changed the freeze plugs on that engine.
But, you shouldn't have bellows on that drive system. That's a Stringer, so you likely have a boot there on the transom. If it hasn't been changed in 50 years, then yes - I'd change it.
MOD warning: let's get back to posting nice photos and leave the rest alone in this thread. Would hate to have to lock this one down after it's run so long.
I did a family of five on a 15' for a while ... that was tight. After that I had two 19' (one is technically 19.5). We fit fine. It wasn't spacious, and you couldn't invite a lot of friends. But the family and the dog did fine on it.
Got any rentals in the area? Probably pretty easy to rent a...
