You can't take a 10 and derate it to a 15....you can derate a 15 to a 10 though. Can a 10 be made into a 15? Yes, with different terminology. As marked, your motor is a 10 unless it's been modified. Why do you care? Just curious.

I have that motor....interesting pump on that, in fact we had someone a year or so ago that had a super hard time ordering the right pump kit. Seems the info on some part sites are incorrect. For me, buying any JohnnyRude outboard parts I go OEM first....then Sierra if I can't find in the oem...
