Lower unit was leaking gear oil, area forward of prop and bearing carrier locknut in exhaust passage was filled with gear oil. Would not hold any pressure with hand vacuum pump. Put ~10psi in through fill hole and had large bubbles coming from around edge of bearing carrier. Some tiny bubbles...
System with shock absorber, tilt cylinder and trim cylinder. Actuating it up and down to try to refill system since motor/reservoir was replaced (not by me, new to me). Have to lift up engine to get to up position, trim cylinder stays retracted but if I then push the motor down with motor off...
