Finished up layers 3, 4 and 5 this morning glad to be done with the glassing in part of the transom just some minor hole cleaning out to be done. was thinking about putting 1 layer of csm around the transom cutout as i didnt wrap the glass around that curve of the cutout but theres plenty of...

@MikeSchinlaub finished the 2nd layer and ran out of resin that WR is thick.

@MikeSchinlaub no the first layer is 3" 1.5ozCSM inches then 5"WR then 7"CSM, then 9"WR , then 11"CSM total of 5 layers. Done with the first layer time for the next, i might have to wait until tomorrow i only have about 1/4- 1/2 gallon of resin left im not even sure if that would be enough for...

Yea I was teetering on it, I had a couple sheets of aruco plywood left from a project i just finished up so i decided on the cheaper route. The composite guy at the airport im at could have orded me 2 4x8 sheets for just over $200 each free shipping aparently hes a high dollar client for the...

I had to pause on this while I finished my work office build also money was a little tight. Got the transom together with cabosil/ polyester resin let that cure for a couple days just got this in the boat after all that hard prep work used a notched trowel on the PB resin and installed it as...

@MikeSchinlaub the problem is with that 36grit flapper disk it makes dips super fast in the fiberglass mabie i should switch to a electric hand sander to flatten everything out or take off that layer

@Pmt133 so what your saying is keep grinding on that glass because it aint ready yet? Right now the glass feels smooth with no fiber but i can start to see the fiber if i grind down a little more, Should i Keep uising that 36grit flapper or go less coarse i mean it probably doesnt need to much...

More progressive on the transom, just about done not sure if I need to sand the glass down more but I hear people say fresh pink glass im not seeing anything pink on this **** except saw dust. Using a 36grit flapper disk to knock down most of the attached plywood this is a shifty job

I found a 40gallon tank thats pretty close made by RDS59182 it is about 2" taller and 3gallons smaller but there is enough room to clear. I sent a quote request for a custom tank same spec we will see

@Drivewayboater2 I guess your right rhe corrosion is pretty bad in multiple spots even found 2 decent size holes explains my bad fuel economy. This is not gonna be cheap....

@Drivewayboater2 im gonna do a good visual inspection and take a look at the depth of any pitting, If its out of limits ill get a new one but if its within im gonna clean it up and throw it back in. Its is aluminum which has suprisingly held up nicely. I'm super super sore from all that cutting...

@MikeSchinlaub thanks for the reply ill make sure to tag you in the reply what OZ weight should the woven roving be, im assuming your talking about bonding any wood to the hull including stringers. Also do you think the 3733 cloth is good? How much does each layer add to the total thickness (IE...

Hey guys thanks for the Replys. Mikeschinlaub you were right motor mount structure completely rotted I cut all that out today, before i started any cutting i thoroughly measured everything, and checked how the boat stringers sat with a level on them lateraly and longitudanlly with the boats top...
