I have an 89 Mercruiser 3.0L with alpha drive. After seeing a boat sink at the dock this weekend I thought I should try to find and fix my leak. I think I found it. One of the bolts with the anode on the end was loose enough to move in and out about 1/4". There is also a rust stain running...
I have an '89 3.0L Merc. I removed the exhaust riser from the exhaust manifold. My question is do I need to use a gasket cement when reconnecting these 2 parts? I have a new gasket and cleaned all the old gasket off the parts. It seemed like the old gasket was stuck on the parts real good...
