I see a lot of posts on engines overheating under various conditions. Mine overheated after 3-5 minutes at full throttle. After reading lots and lots of posts, I decided to tear the damn thing down and do some looking. Look what I found! Seal was smashed on feed tube coming up from the water...
Troubleshot all the usual suspects. Replaced impeller, (old one looked fine) bottom pump wear plate. It's peeing fine. Replaced t-stat. Did a reverse flush through thermostat hole and did get some black oily carbon deposits in the bucket, with lower unit pulled. This makes me think exhaust is...
