i am changing out a merc 302 with a ford 302 from a truck. everyone keeps telling me how important it is to put in brass freeze plugs but no one has told me why. is this a pressure issue or simply because of corosion? i only plan on running this motor for 1 or 2 summers in lake water. will steel...
i bought an older 18' closed bow sea ray and it has no title so i know basicly nothing about it(year, model, length). i have the numbers from the hull and it has a merc 302(188hp) with a merc 888 outdrive. the hull numbers are-SERM4074M74D1901010211. Any info would help. thanx
i have a complete merc 302 with a cracked block and a good ford 302 out of a truck. does anyone know what all would have to be changed to make it work?
