    Looking around at engines a rebuilt 350 target master with a 280 Volvo outdrive is available, and a overhauled 351 Windsor and 188 outdrive are available, a little to much of a leap from the Chrysler slant six and 250 Volvo outdrive? Tried finding HP’s for above.

    This is a different hull than my other thread it’s a sangster 19” it had the Chrysler 6 and Volvo outdrive. I hate to haul it to the dump. The biggest reason for the 470 not 170 my bad is it’s cheap and runs and it gives me something to do this winter.

    This boat had a Volvo penta outdrive and Chrysler slant Six in it. I got a 170 mercruiser setup to go in it, would the boat motor mounts work or would they require some modification. I don't have the 170 handy to measure. I have some transom work to do obviously including cutting a new transom hole.

    Would a 3L bolt up to this 2.5 drive and intermediate housing?

    Well I’m leaning towards the 3l after all the advice on here. Is the trim tilt off the 2.5 assuming it works any use as a backup for the one that will come with the 3l?

    There is a 3l out there I can grab, involves a day drive and $1500 Canadian 500 hours on it blah blah. Would get a comp test first. Guy can run it to. Last question and I did google this with no luck is what’s the difference in Hp between the 2.5 and the 3. I can’t find anything on it.

    I appreciate the input. 4' hx size? Is that Exhaust manifold? And a 470 has 40 more HP than the 3L? And this is what I'd likely be replacing.

    So ideally probably the 4.3? What about older 6 cylinders or are there part issues for them to? The boat I have has a 4 cylinder 470 in it.

    Is this engine worth the trouble of installing? Or is this the one I read all over to stay away from. Like all according to the seller it runs good. In a 1989 Apollo boat.
