40 hp Johnson running very rough

    Hey Gang

This motor is a single carb unit, 2 cylinder. It is a 1968 model. Was running something terrible. To check which cylinder, either, both, neither was to blame, we took one plug wire loose and restarted. It ran perfectly. Very smooth, maintained a low idle speed. Any ideas on...

    Horsepower vs. Torque

    Hey There

It would seem torque is more important in car motors. Here is what I mean. In 1971, Pontiac put out a 455 with 390 hp and 510 ft/lbs of torque at their appropriate rpm. At the same time Chevy put out a 454 with 450/460 hp and 490 ft/lbs of torque at their appropriate rpm. I...

    Hey There

I read the other post about this motor. Intriguing. Don't really want a 350hp motor. Nor do I want to spend $12 grand. If I get one of these motors for a boat that previously had an outboard, what parts are needed? Where can you get them? How much?

thanks<br...

    Hey Shay

Not sure about your signature. It contains a misquote. Don't worry, it is often misquoted so you are not really at fault. If money is the root of all evil, then we all work for an evil cause!

Money is not the root of all evil. The correct quote is "The love of...
