OK i have a vip 23ft . with a 460 and yes the king cobra drive... So i just had the drive rebuilt and went out with machanic to test. results 56mph with the viper 14.25 23 pitch. @5000 rpm (band 4400-4800) so i order a 14.5 25 lexor..... and now i get only 3400 rpm. something aint right...
OK I got a 89 vip 460 king cobra... All has been well this yr till today ... I was cruising and slowed as I went by some boats anchored so not to wake them. idled by and then went back to plain... not more then 15secs later it was like the motor locked up. When I tried to start it was a Big...
I may be wrong but I feel my boat should have more top speed. Its a 89 vip vindacator with a 7.5 340hp woth a king cobra outdrive. Its 23ft wieghs 4000 with me and one other in the boat it will run 52mph(gps) . I can run from 4400 up the 4800 with no speep difference. I have a 14.24x 23 viper...
