    Extra trim cylinder bushings

I am putting my outdrive back on the boat after being off for a while. I can't for the life of me figure out why I have two of the trim cylinder bushings left over (P/N: 23-815950). I have two in each trim cylinder end for a total of 8 on the unit. Is there anywhere else on these drives that...

1995 Kawasaki ZXI 750 Locked Pump

I found a locked pump this weekend when going to winterize my 95 kawasaki ZXI 750. The impeller locked up once before a few years ago and I pulled everything apart and honed the wear ring until the impeller would spin freely again. This time the wear ring has bulged much worse and I need another...

97 Sea Doo GSI hole in tuned pipe assembly. No power.

I have a 97 SeaDoo GSI and it began giving problems this weekend. The ski started to bog down and would not plane out. The motor seems to be revving okay and runs fine but it will not take off. It seems like an impeller issue. So I pulled the seat and noticed water shooting from the tuned pipe...

    4-blade equiv. to 3 blade

I have a 1995 dixie V-19 I/O ski boat with a 4.3 merc. alpha 1 gen II. When i got the boat it had a 14x23 stainless prop and topped out at 4100rpm and 40mph speedo. hull bottom repair, please advise

I have a 1995 dixie V19 that has some hull damage on the bottom keel. The hull appears to have taken a hard blow to the trailer axle at some point prior to my ownership of the vessel. The fiberglass and gelcoat are cracked and the stringer is visible from the bottom (or, what I believe to be the...

    4.3 vortec or not?

I have a 1995 4.3LX merc and the valve covers say "vortec" on them but I've read some contradictory information that says it may not be. Is there a way to know if it is actually a vortec motor? Or did someone clever just grab some vortec valve covers and sport it up. I don't have the whole...

    sears gamefisher overheating

I'm unsure on the year (late 80's/early 90's)but I have a sears gamefisher that over heats on load. It'll run forever in a bucket and no problems, but when put on a boat and under a load, (higher rpm also) it over heats and cuts off. Any ideas?

    Is soap bad for bindings?

I've read that dish soap will degrade the bindings and make them crack and wear out sooner. Anyone have an opinion on this? It seems to make sense that a detergent will degrade rubber (a petroleum based product), not to mention that most dish soap isn't the best thing environmentally speaking...

    865436A02 vs. 865436A03

Can anyone tell me what they changed from the A02 to the A03 in the shift cable assembly for the alpha drives? I've found an older (new) stock A02 for about $15 less than the A03, worth it? Maybe DonS knows? Thanks!
