    sealing gas lines on I/O gas tank fill?

    I was looking at my 30 year old gas fill hose where it goes into the tank at in the bilge....and it looks like in addition to two hose clamps...there's some kind of sealant..... any suggestions as what sealant...if any.....to use now with the new hose? Thanks, Russ

    Volvo 260A Thermostat 140 or 160 degrees?

    Hi All, Recently I've heard if you're running primarily in fresh water, you can go to a 160 degree thermostat to make the engine run better....(not as rich)....and that this would help at higher altitudes...say 3700 ft (Lake Powell) Thoughts?

    280 Transom Plate cracks by exhaust yoke bolts..

    Hi, does anyone have an idea how these cracks occurred? I circled them on the pics taken from both outside and inside the boat... ...and what's the fix....welding? My buddy at a marine shop said just to get new o rings and use a liberal dose of 3M 4200 and see if that takes care of it...

    Is Patching this Transom Possible?...or safe?

    The wood around the keyhole seems good... is there a viable patch that could be used here? epoxy? Git Rot? Sea cast? I'd prefer to USE the boat this year...and redo the entire transom over the winter. Thanks for your response. Russ

    Can a voltage regulator be tested?

    anyone know if you can test a voltage regulator on a '93 120....besides just using a voltmeter on the battery? this one has the gray wire that goes to the tach.. Thanks, Russ

    '93 120 Force Tach suddenly reads higher..

    at about 2000 rpm, suddenly the tach jumps to 4000....or at about 1500, the tach will jump to around 2500....but the motor rpms do not change when it does this, I press the tilt switch and it goes back to normal...in a minute or two it does the same thing... makes me think that the voltage...

    Rubber shock mounts on 120 force ignition board to powerhead

    there are 3 rubberized bolts holding the board with modules and coils against the engine block, they seem to break alot....has anyone just replaced them with bolts? Does anyone think the bolts will transfer too much vibration to the board? Thanks!!

    72 winner Outboard damaged transom

    Hi... I noticed leaking after launching...and saw cracks in the gelcoat by the engine mounts...most likely the engine bounced while trailering.... was thinking of adding/epoxying a 1/2 aluminim plate across the ouside as a fix? here's pics w/motor removed Any thoughts? Thanks, Russ

    weight and compression of a 1993 120 hp Force?

    Hi....just bought a '93 Maxum with a 120 force....what a simple little engine....:) the guy thought it was fried...I put new head gasket and water pump..seems to run fine....(but smokes!!!)     Leaking Volvo exhaust yoke??...
